• Special Thanks to pal James Rivera (Helstar, Killing Machine) for the passes to the recent Helstar show in San Marcos. Considering all of Helstar (except James) were stuck in Houston (due to the hurricanes), this was quite a spontaneous night of Old-School metal. The night featured Neal Turbin’s Deathriders/Agent Steel(w/Juan Garcia of Killing Machine)/& James and his metal tribute band, Metal Gods. Hearing James sing old metal classics(DiAnno-era Maiden,Priest, etc...) was awesome and, the guitarist did a pretty good Randy-style solo on Mr.Crowley too!!! Very cool Guys!!!! Jerry and the rest of Helstar were sorely missed, but a headbanging time was still had by all!
 • The End of Oct. found Freeze Frame hitting the Mountains of Arizona, playing a week of “scary shows” climaxing with a special Halloween Party on Saturday Night (Oct.29th) feat. “The Afroknots”. Pinetop’s Hon-Dah Casino was the host to 5 great nights of fun, music and mayhem, allowing Freeze Frame to bring their brand of ‘80s shenanigans to Arizona for Halloween. Songs like “Dead Mans Party” and “Superfreak” fit the holiday theme perfectly, as well as the costumes and Hi-jinx. Special thanks to the local newspaper for the press and to Hon-Dah Casino for a ghoulishly great Halloween.
 • The Last week of September saw Galaxy’s own Disco Fever play the World Famous L.A. County Fair on the special Hit-The-Road traveling stage. Disco Fever is simply, The Galaxy Entertainment Management All-Star Disco Revue, but being only 10 letters, is much easier to remember & say. Many of the various G.E.M. disco players pass thru the ranks of Disco Fever, and the 2005 L.A. County Fair gig was no exception. Bootsy Reed’s crew of Superfreaks was out in full-force with, Moodring Richards on Guitar/Diamond Laine II on Bass,Keys & Sax/ Vinnie Sticks Stallone smacking drums and, Ms. Karen D. Voshin sharing vocal duties with Bootsy. In spite of some Sound & Tech. problems, a great time was had by all infected by ‘da fever. A very special thanks to Janet Hansen at www.Enlighted.com for the way-cool, super-fly light up vests Bootsy Reed wore all week. Visit her site or check out Bootsy’s torso for examples of her outstanding threads.
 • A sad goodbye goes out to Irvine’s CrazyHorse Saloon after over 5 years of amazing disco and ‘80s nights. Started by Galaxy Entertainment’s Bootsy Reed & his Superfreaks (along w/ 80 Sense),these tribute shows became an actual institution in Orange County up until all live entertainment was discontinued from the Spectrum. Best wishes to Jay, Steve, Rhonda, Lisa and all involved at the CrazyHorse as well as to the Superfreaks, 80 Sense, Bootie Quake, Disco Inferno, Funky Hippeez and all the great bands that made these nights magical. BEWARE: Bootsy may be moving to your neighborhood!!!!
 • Long Time G.E.M. friend James Rivera is making headlines again with his much in-demand vocal talents. Rivera and legendary guitarist Brad Gillis (Night Ranger,Ozzy)have joined Bay-Area metallers “Vicious Rumors” alongside the remaining 3 original members. Band leader Geoff Thorpe commented: ”This is truly an exciting time for Vicious Rumors. The chemistry between the five of us is wicked”. That puts James in bands with guys from Megadeth & Ozzy, while maintaining Helstar and his other projects. You Go, Homeboy!!!!

• Longtime G.E.M. collaborator and friend, Brian Kehew, is in a new project with '80s metal hero, "THOR". You may remember Brian and his studio work with The Doobie Brothers, Devo, The Muffs, and many other major recording artists as well as the early Weapon-X demos. Kehew has also contributed greatly to the continuance and resurgence of 70's keyboard music with his recording work and performances in his pet project, "Moog Cookbook". Brian now adds working in a reformed version of Thor to his resume and Guy (and all at G.E.M.) wish Brian all the best!

• Sadly, On May 11th, Vocalist David Wayne (formerly of Metal Church) passed away due to complications from a recent head-on auto accident. Wayne, originally from Seattle, was a long-time resident of Riverside and leaves behind a sizable list of friends and band mates in the area. One of Guy's fondest "performing live" memories is of an incredible afternoon supporting Anthrax and Metal Church at an outdoor festival in Corona. This was the same year that Metal Church was supporting Metallica on their rise to fame. What an era that was, and Wayne shared in those great events. Daggers Edge crossed paths with David on many occasions, and though many years have passed, G.E.M. wants to thank David Wayne for the cool metal memories and to wish condolences to his family and friends. R.I.P. Reverend!!!

• Who was that on the backlot of SONY Pictures last Saturday Night? (April 16) None other than Danny D. (Mr. Sound-A-Like) and a full 12-piece Orchestra benefiting a charity for the Acting Arts. And the one and only legendary Mickey Rooney was on hand to lead the festivities, along with Mickey Jr. and his longtime wife, Jan Rooney. Mickey and Jan sang with Danny's band, and then the legendary Monty Hall ("Let's Make a Deal") came out and hosted a Gala auction that included a puppy that went for $4,000!!! Lucky Dog!!!

• Former Daggers Edge frontman and longtime friend, James Rivera (Helstar, Seven Witches, Destiny's End, Distant Thunder, Flotsam & Jetsam, etc.) has signed on as singer for a new Metal Supergroup project. This band project, titled Killing Machine, consists of German guitarist Peter Scheithauer (Stream, Eric Singer Band), Drummer John Dette (ex-Slayer, Testament) and the Infamous Dave Jr. Ellefson (ex-Megadeth, F5) on bass. The band is on the verge of signing major recording and merchandising deals and has one special gig booked for July 17th in Ft. Myers, Florida. Good luck, guys!!!

• Guy's longtime and estranged friend and ex-bandmate, Guitarist Terry Corso is making big news again in the music industry. You remember Terry from Nu-Metal giants Alien Ant Farm, who had a huge hit with their cover of Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal". Then, AAF made news when tragedy struck the band while on tour in Italy. A bus accident that left band and crew members seriously injured derailed, and eventually ended the group. Well, Terry is now playing and recordng with POWERMAN 5000, the band featuring Rob Zombie's brother, Spider1. It's good to see Terry back on his feet and playing with another Major Label artist. Guy and G.E.M. wish Terry and POWERMAN 5000 continued success!
